Revolution, Shepherd tackle ‘Sex Drink’ story

Script based on Nerve.com article

Revolution Studios has tapped scribe John Scott Shepherd (“Joe Somebody”) to script an untitled project based on the Nerve.com article by Suzi Parker entitled “Genie in a Bottle: The Sex Drink That’s Rocking Little Rock.”

Article centers on “Niagara,” a new wonder drink touted as the female version of Viagra. Though project was initially picked up with Adam Sandler and Julia Roberts in mind, it’s unclear whether they will star.

Sandler’s and Jack Giarraputo’s Revolution-based Happy Madison shingle, along with Roberts and Deb Schindler’s Revolution-based Shoelace Prods., will develop the script. Revolution partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas will oversee the project for the studio.

Project was brought to Revolution by Happy Madison development director Tom McNulty.

Shepherd, whose deal was brokered by Paradigm and Colden, McKuin and Frankel, most recently scripted “Life Or Something Like It,” starring Angelina Jolie for director Stephen Herek and New Regency. He is also penning a rewrite on New Line’s “Henry’s List of Wrongs.”

Shepherd is also developing a project at John Wells Prods. and Warner Bros. based on his novel “Eulogy for Joseph Way” with his eye on directing.
