Par serves up tennis comedy

Pic produced by SNL Studios

Peter Murrieta is scripting an untitled Horatio Sanz comedy for Paramount.

Pic, based on a pitch by Sanz, is about a tennis prodigy who’s fallen on hard times and attempts to make a comeback.

It’s being produced by SNL Studios — source for such pics as “Wayne’s World” and “A Night at the Roxbury” — under Paramount exec Karen Rosenfeld and SNL Studios exec Richard Feldman.

Sanz, who became the first Latino regular on SNL in 1998, is seeing more Hollywood action these days. Coming off a lead role in “Tomcats,” he’s negotiating to star opposite Cuba Gooding Jr. in the buddy pic “Boat Trip.”

Murrieta just wrote an as yet untitled Betty Thomas project for Revolution.
