Par hands Jackson exec VP stripes

Duties include studio's charitable involvement

HOLLYWOOD — Allison Jackson has been promoted to senior VP of special projects and philanthropy for Paramount Pictures’ Motion Picture Group. She had been VP of special projects since 1993.

Jackson will continue to be responsible for planning and supervising special projects and philanthropic endeavors for the studio, a task that includes overseeing all premieres, industry screenings, special events and charitable requests.

Jackson, who joined Par in 1979 as an executive assistant to the senior VP of publicity and promotions, continues to report to Par’s exec VP of worldwide publicity, Nancy Kirkpatrick.

In recent years, Jackson has organized fund-raising events and premieres for such films as “Forrest Gump,” “Braveheart” and “Titanic,” and has overseen Par’s charitable involvement with organizations including Stop Cancer, the Music Center of Los Angeles County, Special Olympics and Big Sisters Scholarship Fund. She serves on the boards of the Entertainment Industry Foundation and the Cancer Center of Children’s Hospital.
