Vincenzo Natali (“Cube”) has signed on to direct “Nothing” based on a screenplay by Andrew Miller and Andrew Lowery.
Senator Intl. will provide principal financing, exec produce and handle worldwide distribution on the pic. The Klockwork Co. will retain all Japanese distribution rights.
Natali is currently in post-production on Miramax’s upcoming thriller “Company Man,” starring Jeremy Northam and Lucy Liu.
‘Cube’ team rounded up
“Nothing” is the first feature to come out of producer Steven Hoban and exec producer Noah Segal’s newly formed production shingle 49th Parallel. Pic reunites Natali with the team behind “Cube”: producer Hoban, stars David Hewlett and Andrew Miller and cinematographer Derek Rogers.
The surreal comedy follows two young men who find themselves in a Dali-esque world of their own making.
The scribes, under contract with Miramax, most recently penned “Boys and Girls,” released under Miramax’s Dimension label and starring Freddie Prinze Jr., Claire Forlani and Jason Biggs, and Independent Artists’ “Simon Sez,” starring Dennis Rodman.
