Myriad Pictures has appointed production vet Lucas Foster to the newly created post of production president.
He will oversee Myriad’s growing production slate and report directly to Myriad president Kirk D’Amico and co-president Philip von Alvensleben.
Foster has worked for producers such as Frank Yablans, Scott Rudin, Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer. Most recently, he partnered with filmmaker Jan De Bont at the latter’s Fox-based shingle Blue Tulip Films.
Foster is in post on the Dimension Films project “Equilibrium,” starring Christian Bale and Emily Watson.
With Rudin, Foster acquired and developed “The Firm” and worked on the development of “Executive Decision” as well as “Rules of Engagement.”
During his tenure with Simpson/Bruckheimer, Foster worked on such projects as “The Ref,” starring Denis Leary and Kevin Spacey; “Bad Boys,” starring Will Smith; and “Dangerous Minds,” on which he served as executive producer. He was also involved in the development of “The Rock” and “Enemy of the State.”
