Miramax Intl. names Noeltner sr. VP

Former AB Svensk Filmindustri exec to be based in Gotham

NEW YORK — Edward Noeltner has joined Miramax Intl. as senior vice president of sales and distribution. Noeltner, who will be based in Miramax’s New York headquarters, will report to Rick Sands, Miramax Films’ chairman of worldwide distribution.

Noeltner will take on many of the same responsibilities of former Miramax Intl. executive VP Cedric Jeanson, who exited the company to pursue other opportunities.

For the last two years, Noeltner was senior VP of international distribution for AB Svensk Filmindustri. He also was responsible for the opening of the giant Scandinavian independent’s Paris branch office.

Noeltner headed the television department of Pandora Cinema for three years before joining Svensk. He previously served as president of Senator Film Intl. and established the Berlin-based international sales division for the German independent film production and distribution company.

Noeltner began his career in 1986 with Cineteve as director of international affairs and later spent seven years as VP of international distribution for Europe Export Films.
