Summit Entertainment and Mandalay Pictures have reupped their sales agency agreement under which Summit provides international sales and distribution for Mandalay’s production slate. The new, three-year deal begins in January.
The arrangement is expected to provide three titles a year for Summit. Mandalay has begun production on its most recent film, “Beyond Borders,” which stars Angelina Jolie and Clive Owen and will be repped by Summit overseas. Paramount Pictures handles domestic distribution.
Mandalay and Summit have previously partnered on titles such as “Seven Years in Tibet” starring Brad Pitt, “Donnie Brasco” starring Al Pacino, “Sleepy Hollow” starring Johnny Depp and “The Score” starring Robert De Niro and Edward Norton. Upcoming is “Servicing Sara,” starring Elizabeth Hurley and Matthew Perry.
“I am especially proud of our relationship with Summit, which has enabled Mandalay to establish a continuous and effective reach into the international market,” said Mandalay chairman Peter Guber. “(Summit partners) Patrick Wachsberger and Bob Hayward provide a creative partnership that allows Mandalay to maximize its production and success.”
