Scott Kalvert (“The Basketball Diaries”) has signed on to helm the Jon Hurwitz/Hayden Schlossberg-penned comedy “Filthy,” set up at MGM.
Project will be produced by Paul Schiff and co-produced by Matt Berenson.
Comedy centers on a wealthy slacker who’s trying to find himself after he finishes college and is coldly dumped by his girlfriend. His successful best friend sends him on a regimen that includes exercise and a pledge to stay clear of pornography.
Hurwitz and Schlossberg, repped by Principato-Young and WMA, sold “Filthy” to MGM last year just as they were graduating college and considering law school and finance.
Disney and on-lot producer Mike Karz recently tapped the duo to do a production polish on “Max Keeble’s Big Move.” They also closed a deal to develop a gameshow with Telepictures entitled “Popular Opinion.”
