Thesp to join Spielberg after Crowe's 'Sky'

Even Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg appear anxious to get one extra pic in before the strike.

The busy actor, lensing “Vanilla Sky” for Cameron Crowe and Paramount Pictures in Los Angeles, will take two weeks off after wrapping production in early March. He will then seque to his next gig, Fox’s “Minority Report,” to be helmed by another busy man — Spielberg.

The director is editing “A.I.” on an impossible schedule so that he can put “Minority Report” into pre-production on time. Spielberg had spent two years figuring out his next picture; now he has a two-fer.
