LONDON — A group of British investors will unveil today a £66 million ($92 million) project to build a film and TV studio in south-west England.
The Full Picture Co. says it has secured the coin in principle and is looking for a site. It has not revealed the source of the funding.
It wants to build six soundstages, including one that will be nearly twice the size of Pinewood’s 007 stage, the largest in Europe. The Full Picture Co.’s chairman is Peter Lamont, the Oscar-winning production designer of numerous James Bond movies.
The company has identified England’s scenic southwest as the best place to build the studio because of the large amount of location shooting that already takes place there.
