Feds fund state biz

World Brief

The Victorian film and TV industry has received a A$17 million ($9 million) boost to services, production investment and cash flow provisions in the state government budget.

Coin follows advice to the government from a task force commissioned to investigate how to help the state’s struggling industry. A one-time grant of $6.3 million will boost state’s cash flow facility to $7.9 million.

Industry response is positive except for repeated calls for government assistance in building a studio facility to rival Fox in Sydney and Warners Studios in Queensland.
