Farrell targets ‘Daredevil’

Thesp to play character opposite Affleck in comics saga

Colin Farrell (“Tigerland”) has hit the mark with the Regency Enterprises/20th Century Fox co-production “Daredevil.”

The Irish-born actor is zeroing in on the role of master marksman Bullseye, the nemesis of blind lawyer and martial artist Daredevil (Ben Affleck) in the bigscreen version of the Marvel Comics superhero saga.

Budgeted at around $50 million, pic is skedded to lense next year with Mark Steven Johnson (“Simon Birch”) directing.

Gary Foster will produce with Marvel Studios CEO-prexy Avi Arad. Comic book legend Stan Lee will exec produce.

This isn’t the first time CAA-repped Farrell has been mentioned in conjunction with the pic — his name was bandied about as a potential lead before Affleck signed on for the role of Matt Murdock last October.

Farrell, who recently appeared in Warner Bros.’ “American Outlaws,” has four pics skedded to bow next year: MGM’s “Hart’s War,” Disney’s “The Farm” and Fox’s “Phone Booth” and “Minority Report.”
