Dimension to get pix from Vertigo’s Lee, Davison

Pact a multiyear, first-look agreement

Dimension Films has signed a multiyear, first-look pact with producers Roy Lee and Doug Davison.

The two, who recently formed their own production shingle, Vertigo Entertainment, will bring film projects and acquisitions to Miramax/Dimension.

“Lee and Davison have great relationships in the world of acquisitions and have developed quality projects that are really appropriate for Dimension,” said Brad Weston, Dimension co-head of production. “We are excited to have a team with their combination of skills join us.”

Prior to forming Vertigo, Lee worked as a producer for Benderspink and earned executive producer credits on projects including DreamWorks’ “The Ring” by Ehren Kreuger, Paramount’s “Devil’s Kiss” and Revolution’s “EXI.” Lee also served as exec producer on the “Fistful of Candy” pitch by Mike Bender at Columbia. Before joining Benderspink, Lee served as an executive at Alphaville.

Davison most recently held the post of senior veep of production at Mad Chance, where he co-produced Warner Bros.’ “Death to Smoochy,” written by Adam Resnick, directed by Danny DeVito, and starring Robin Williams and Ed Norton. He also co-produced Warner Bros.’ “Get Smart” and “Encyclopedia of Hell.” Also while at Mad Chance, Davison developed “Space Cowboys” and “Lucky Numbers.”

Miramax/Dimension manager of development, Sue Trenholme, brought Lee and Davison into the studio. Both producers will work out of Miramax/Dimension’s L.A. office. Andrew Gumpert, senior veep of business and legal affairs, negotiated the deal on behalf of Miramax/Dimension. Attorney Rick Genow of Stone, Meyer and Genow negotiated on behalf of Lee and Davison.
