Berry guns for ‘Gigli’ gig

Affleck to co-star in Brest pic

Halle Berry (“Swordfish”) is in negotiations to star opposite Ben Affleck in Revolution Studios’ “Gigli” for director Martin Brest (“Meet Joe Black”). Pic is skedded to lense this November.

Berry would play a free-spirited female gunslinger, ostensibly sent to supervise a lowly hit man (Affleck) who has kidnapped the mentally slow brother of a prominent district attorney. Together they hold the brother hostage in a small apartment and go on the lam from the cops. In the process, the hit man falls in love with her.

Brest, best known for directing “Scent of a Woman” and “Midnight Run,” wrote the script and will produce the pic with former Universal chairman and CEO Casey Silver. Revolution execs Todd Garner and Greg Silverman are overseeing the project for the studio.

Berry, who is repped by CAA and Cirrincione Lee Entertainment, recently finished filming Lions Gate’s “Monster’s Ball,” starring Billy Bob Thornton and Heath Ledger and directed by Marc Forster.
