With a North American distribution deal in the wings, MDP Worldwide has closed a slew of high-profile territories on its $40-million action-adventure epic “D’Artagnan.”
The company has closed deals with Nippon Herald in Japan, Helkon and VCL in Germany, M6 in France, MediaFilm Network in Italy, TriPictures in Spain and Scanbox in Scandinavia. MDP has also closed distribution deals for Greece, Iceland, Singapore, Thailand, Portugal, Turkey, Poland, Russia and the Middle East.
“D’Artagnan,” directed by Peter Hyams, stars Tim Roth, Stephen Rea, Catherine Deneuve, Mena Suvari, Nick Moran and Justin Chambers. Swashbuckling tale concerns a mysterious warrior who arrives in Paris and joins the Musketeers in an effort to save a country on the verge of war. The film is being shown as a promo reel at AFM.
MDP is also repping the Antonio Banderas, Olivia Williams and Derek Jacobi starrer “The Body”; director Christian Duguay’s “The Extremists,” about an extreme-sports film crew drawn into the chase of a war criminal in the Austrian Alps; and “Fear.com,” directed by William Malone, about a student who unearths clues linking the deaths of various men to a voluptuous cyberwoman playing a deadly game on her Web site.
