The Deep End

In this cat-and-mouse thriller, Tilda Swinton plays a woman whose Navy husband is perpetually at sea, who finds her gay teen son’s lover washed up on the beach of their lakefront home. First she must dispose of the body, then she’s got to contend with the blackmailing attempts of Alek Spera (Goran Visnjic, best known for “ER”), who was sent by a loan shark (Raymond Barry) owed money by the dead man. How far will Hall go to save her family? If necessity is the mother of invention, then a desperate mom is an inventor indeed. Written and directed by Scott McGehee and David Siegel, “The Deep End” was adapted from Elizabeth Sanxay Holding’s novel “The Blank Wall.”
