Shrek

Who let the pigs out? Why, John Lithgow, of course. His is the voice of the evil Lord Farquaad, who sets “Shrek’s” plot in motion when he evicts the familiar characters of fairy tales and nursery rhymes from his kingdom. This unhappy crew descends on an ornery ogre named Shrek (voiced by Mike Myers), whose precious solitude is disrupted by blind mice in his food, a big bad wolf in his bed and three little homeless pigs, among others. Shrek cuts a deal with Farquaad to rescue the beautiful Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz) from a fire-breathing dragon so she can take her place as Farquaad’s bride. Eddie Murphy voices his donkey sidekick. “Shrek” was computer-animated by the PDI/DreamWorks team responsible for “Antz.”
