CANNES — It’s not easy to be a producer. You need good projects, strong connections, tenacity and lots of money.

But in some cases, all you need is money.

Who Wants to be a Movie Star Inc., which got into a flap with the Screen Actors Guild by auctioning off acting roles in its “Getting Hal,” is now auctioning a producer credit on the pic.

At a photo call this afternoon, on the Carlton Pier, “Hal” star Delicia Lanza will be flaunting her talents with leading man Brad Rowe to promo the auction (www.whowantstobeamoviestar.com).

The pic is helmed by Tony Markes and written by Adam Rifkin and Doug Stuart. Markes, Rifkin and Dan Hassid produce.

Much of the pic’s funding came via the Internet; after the SAG brouhaha, many actors wound up in the film not by buying their roles, but by being “sponsored.”

So perhaps someone will be happy to “sponsor” a producer.
