ECG acquires ‘Spooky House’

Kingsley pic to compete at Shanghai fest

CANNES — ECG Worldwide has acquired international rights to “Spooky House,” starring Mercedes Ruehl and Ben Kingsley. Pic will compete in the fifth annual Shanghai Film Festival.

Directed by William Sachs, “House” will be shown as part of the Panorama section during the June 9-17 festival. The Shanghai Intl. Film Festival is a non-specialized competitive film festival accredited by the Intl. Federation of Film Producers Assns.

Barbara Mudge, founder and president of ECG Worldwide, formed the international sales company Worldwide Entertainment in 1998. Her company was acquired last year by U.K.-based Entertainment Capital Group to serve as the latter’s overseas division and It was renamed ECG Worldwide. Its sister company, domestic distributor Access Motion Picture Group, is also a subsidiary of ECG.
