CANNES — Film vet Chris Davis has been tapped to head international sales for FilmEngine, the recently minted financing, production and sales outfit led by partners A.J. Dix, Anthony Rhulen and Bill Shively.
Davis most recently headed international operations for Scanbox Intl. Previous posts include serving as prexy of international distribution for Franchise Pictures and Trans World Entertainment. He also worked in the international departments of Lorimar Intl. and Avco Embassy.
FilmEngine is debuting its first slate at the Cannes Market. Titles include “The Butterfly Effect,” which stars Joshua Jackson, Ali Larter and Elden Henson, and “One Night,” written by Mike Bender with Joel Gallen attached to direct. Both titles are in pre-production.
Film Engine recently finalized a joint venture arrangement with Chris Bender and J.C. Spink’s management/production company, Benderspink, and Josh Hartnett and Henson’s production shingle, Roulette Entertainment.
