THQ pacts with Hearst, Kricfalusi

THQ has inked a deal with Hearst Entertainment and John Kricfalusi, creator of “The Ren and Stimpy Show” and owner of animation studio Spumco, for the vidgame rights to “The Ripping Friends,” skedded to bow on Fox Kids in the fall. The first “Ripping Friends” vidgame will bow during the holidays to be available on consoles. Fox Kids has slated an initial 13 episodes of the show about four superheros to air.
