Santa Monica-based Web production company Zeros & Ones Entertainment has launched Zeros & Ones Studios, a work-for-hire Web animation facility. New digital arm is being formed by the team of 16 animators that recently created “Julius & Friends,” a 26-episode Webisodic toon based around the clothing line created by Paul Frank. Series hits the Web this summer.
Besides developing new series for itself, Zeros & Ones Studios will also handle work as a vendor for other projects including animation for TV. Zeros & Ones Entertainment, which also operates technology and content arms, employs around 30 staffers.
Tim Rummel heads up the venture as veep, managing director. He was director of production for Zeros & Ones before the formation of the new group. Prior to that he was a producer with Sony Online Entertainment.The animation production team is headed by Michael Adamo, who co-founded AMPnyc Animation, a New York-based studio specializing in commercial and short form animation, before joining Zeros & Ones last year. Rummel and Adamo were executive producer and animation director, respectively, for “Julius & Friends.”
