Internet TV channel Canal Web, one of the early experiments in online TV, filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy Wednesday.

Chairman Jacques Rosselin avoided a similar fate last summer by pacting with Web TV company Europe Online when Canal Web’s two main backers, Galileo Partners and Paribas Affaires, pulled out. But Europe Online has refused to inject the 4 million euros ($3.6 million) Canal Web needed. Canal Web is searching for a buyer.
