Hypnotic has inked a multiyear deal to become the exclusive sales representative for the American Film Institute’s short film library.
At the Mipcom market, Hypnotic will begin selling worldwide rights to AFI’s hundreds of short films to all media outlets, including broadcast and cable, airlines, broadband channels, video-on-demand and hotels.
“This agreement with AFI provides Hypnotic access to some of the best shortform content in the world and allows us to build a relationship with their emerging filmmakers as well as provide them resources and opportunities beyond mere distribution,” said Hypnotic CEO Dave Bartis.
Universal-backed Hypnotic is a production company and Internet broadcaster that uses its relationships with emerging filmmakers to acquire, develop, produce and distribute films, TV programming and commercials. Netcaster Nibblebox, co-founded by helmer Doug Liman, recently merged with the company.
Hypnotic is currently readying its second annual Million Dollar Film Festival.
