NEW YORK — Universal Music and Video Distribution has retooled its sales and marketing operations, tapping two execs to head separate East and West Coast headquarters.
Curt Eddy will relocate to New York to become senior VP of field sales and marketing for UMVD’s Eastern division, which also includes regional offices in Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Detroit, Miami and Washington, D.C. Meanwhile, Mike Greene will hold the same title, remaining in Los Angeles to oversee that office as well as outposts in Chicago, Minneapolis, Seattle and San Francisco.
Both execs will report to UMVD exec VP Jim Weatherson, who was tapped for that post last week.
Eddy has spent two years as senior veep of sales and distribution for UMVD, which handles distribution duties for such Universal labels as Island Def/Jam, Interscope, MCA, Motown, Verve and Geffen. Prior to that, he was senior VP of field marketing at Polygram Distribution for seven years.
Greene has been a divisional VP in UMVD’s West Coast operations since 1996. Before signing on at the company, he worked as VP of purchasing at Blockbuster Music for two years. Exec has also held posts at EMI and Sony Music.
