L.A. law firm Manatt, Phelps takes on two

Attorneys will rep feature film and television talent

HOLLYWOOD — Manatt, Phelps & Phillips said Thursday that entertainment attorneys Gunnar Erickson and Bradley Small will join the Los Angeles law firm’s film and TV practice next week.

Formerly partners in the Westside entertainment law boutique Erickson, Halloran & Small, the attorneys will rep feature film and television actors, writers, directors and exec producers, as well as independent production outfits that finance and produce TV movies and series.

Erickson joins of counsel, Small as a partner.

The newly appointed attorneys have clients including actress Thora Birch (“American Beauty”); TV producers Gary Randall (“Any Day Now”), Cindy Chupack (“Sex & the City”) and Deborah Joy Levine (“The Division”); and writer Nicholas Pileggi (“Casino”). Institutional clients include Carlton America and A&E Television.
