HOLLYWOOD — Crown Media Intl., which operates the Hallmark Channel outside the U.S., has made key promotions in three regions as it rationalizes and brands its overseas operations.
Jeff Henry has been promoted to the new position of chief executive, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Eduardo Vera has been promoted to the new position of managing director/chief executive, Latin America and the Caribbean. Terence Yau has been tapped for the new post of managing director/chief exec, Asia.
All three will report to Russel Givens Jr., president-CEO of Crown Media Intl.
Henry will oversee activities of the Hallmark Channel’s feeds in Europe, Middle East and Africa. He will retain the dual titles of CEO of Crown Entertainment, which operates the Hallmark Channel in the U.K., and CEO of Crown Interactive.
Henry joined Crown Entertainment as managing director of the British version of the Hallmark Channel in June 2000. Before that, he was CEO at Granada Sky Broadcasting and Carlton TV.
Vera was VP and managing director of Latin America for the Hallmark Channel. He will be based in Miami. Before joining Crown Media, Vera was VP of affiliate sales for United Family Communications.
Yau will oversee activities in the Asia-Pacific region as well as all Hallmark Channel creative services, distribution and marketing activities. Yau, who was VP and managing director of the Hallmark Channel Asia Pacific, will be based in Crown Media’s Hong Kong offices.
Yau joined Crown Media as executive director and general manager in 1999. Earlier, he was director of international sales and general manager at ESPN Star Sports.
Significant investors in Crown Media Holdings include Hallmark Entertainment, a subsidiary of Hallmark Cards, Liberty Media and DirecTV.
