Creative Artists Agency’s Patrick Whitesell is negotiating to join the Endeavor tenpercentery.
Whitesell, named co-head of motion picture talent department only last February, reps such clients as Drew Barrymore, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Jennifer Aniston; it’s not clear which clients would follow him, or why Whitesell might be leaving.
Last year CAA promoted Whitesell to co-head of the talent department along with longtime agent Rick Kurtzman. At the time of Whitesell’s promotion, CAA managing director David O’Connor praised him as part of an “invaluable” team that included Kurtzman as well as co-heads of the motion picture literary department Rand Holston and Risa Gertner.
In addition to his role as an agent, Whitesell manages and leads day-to-day operations within the CAA talent department. Whitesell joined CAA’s motion picture department in 1995. Previously, he worked as an agent for United Talent Agency and before that, Intertalent. An Endeavor spokesman declined to comment on the talks, and CAA toppers were unavailable for comment at deadline.
