Law firm Bryan Cave has recruited entertainment attorney Ken Meyer to join the firm’s Santa Monica offices, as head of its new entertainment arm.
He joins former Anaheim Angels prexy Richard M. Brown, in efforts to ramp up Bryan Cave’s entertainment, media and sports client roster.
“Ken’s established reputation and depth of expertise will be invaluable as the firm expands its resources, said chairman Walter L. Metcalfe Jr. “With the addition of Ken, we now have an outstanding team of senior, well known and highly regarded attorneys that will enhance Bryan Cave’s presence in these areas.
The firm initially began to extend into the entertainment, media and sports arenas last fall, under the leadership of corporate partner Mel Ziontz and London-based media partner Anthony Fiducia.
“I am tremendously excited about the opportunity to have a significant role with a firm as prestigious as Bryan Cave,” Meyer said. “To broaden its capabilities within the entertainment industry, augmenting Rich Brown’s expertise in sports and media law, and the entertainment and media transactional expertise of Mel and Anthony.”
For the past five years, Meyer has built his own private law practice. Previously, he served as senior executive VP of MGM, where he supervised legal and administrative matters, as well as TV production and distribution. He also has held posts as executive veep and general counsel of MTM Entertainment.
