The power rangers at Fox have elected Doug Yates to senior vice prez of marketing at both Fox Family Channel and Fox Kids Network.
Yates adds oversight of Fox Family; he previously focused on Fox Kids. He will continue to handle marketing for Fox Kids, but he’ll also assume all primetime and daytime marketing strategies for Fox Family.
He’ll report to Maureen Smith, general manager of Fox Kids and exec veepee of Fox Family, who made the announcement.
“Doug has done a tremendous job reinforcing the Fox Kids brand as the No. 1 destination for action and adventure,” Smith said. “Doug brings a wealth of broadcast and cable experience to his new Fox Family Channel responsibilities.”
Yates replaces exec Tom Lucas, who departs as senior veepee of marketing for Fox Family Channel.
Yates landed at Fox Kids in August 1998 as veepee, segueing from sibling cabler FX Networks. He spent four years at FX, working his way up to director of marketing and promotions. Yates’ resume also includes a stint in affiliate sales and marketing at the Disney Channel.
