Van Dien, King set for ‘Titans’

Sudser centers around aeronautics industry

Casper Van Dien (“Sleepy Hollow”) and Perry King (“Riptide”) have been cast in the NBC primetime sudser pilot “Titans.”

Van Dien will play an ex-Air Force officer who returns from the service to work for his father’s aeronautics dynasty. King will play the aging tycoon.

Show is described as a traditional soap similar to “Dallas” or “Falcon Crest.”

Van Dien’s film credits include “The Omega Code,” “Tarzan and the Lost City” and “Starship Troopers.” Small screen credits include cable pic “Timeshifters,” as well as regular gigs on “Beverly Hills, 90210” and the short-lived “Freshman Dorm.” He also spent a year on the ABC daytime sudser “One Life to Live.”

King is a TV vet, having spent three seasons as the star of the Peacock actioner “Riptide” (1983-86). He’s also had shorter stints on Fox’s “Melrose Place” and the 1995 CBS revival of “Burke’s Law” and has appeared in numerous telepics.

Van Dien and King are both repped by Harry Gold and Daryll Marshak of Gold, Marshak and Liedtke.
