Tarbs tabs Asian, African sat pacts

Deal similar to one made in U.S.

SYDNEY — Australian ethnic feevee operator Tarbs, which transmits 39 channels Down Under, has clinched deals to form pan-Asian and African satellite platforms as part of its plan to create an international multicultural feevee operation.

Tarbs has forged the pacts with Greece’s Unitel Hellas for access to the Thaicom 3 satellite, and the Egyptian Radio and TV Union for access to AsiaSat 2. That provides the pay TV service with coverage of Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

Deals complement similar arrangements Tarbs has made with PanAmSat in the U.S.
