Sheila Sitomer, exec producer of “Extra,” will ankle the daily syndie news mag at the end of the season to pursue other opportunities.
Sitomer’s replacement will be announced later this summer.
“‘Extra’ is a great show, and it is in great shape, which is why I’ve chosen now to make this move,” Sitomer said.
“I am entirely confident that the show will continue to thrive and grow as it enters its seventh season.” she added. “This was a tough decision for me, but I felt that it was the right time for me to explore the several opportunities that have recently become available to me.”
Sitomer joined “Extra,” which is produced by Time Telepicutres Television and distributed by Warner Bros. Domestic Television, in 1998 after a decade-long stint at King World’s “Inside Edition.”
“Over the last two years, Sheila has helped us define and focus ‘Extra’ in an extremely competitive broadcast environment,” said Jim Paratore, president of Telepictures Prods.
“We’re grateful for her contributions and wish her all the best,” he continued.
