Paramount Network Television has kissed on a deal with veteran scribes-producers Judd Pillot and John Peaslee.
The duo have inked the overall development pact after having recently joined Jonathan Axelrod, Jamie Widdoes and Marc Cherry as exec producers on PNT’s midseason CBS laffer “Kiss Me Guido” (Daily Variety, June 16).
Two-year agreement calls for Pillot and Peaslee to create and produce comedy series for Par. They had most recently been at Studios USA, where they created and ran the comedies “Something So Right” and “Payne.”
“We are excited to have Judd and John join the Paramount family,” said Tom Mazza, exec VP of creative affairs for Par’s network TV division. “Their addition to our roster reflects Paramount’s continued efforts to target experienced and creative television talent.”
Deal with Par reunites Pillot and Peaslee with Par topper Kerry McCluggage: The three worked together on “Coach,” which Pillot and Peaslee exec produced when McCluggage was at Universal Television.
Pillot and Peaslee’s other shows include the ABC series “Blue Skies,” “A Whole New Ballgame” and “Men and Women.”
Duo are repped by UTA and Artists Management Group.
