NBC and Paxson Communications have named Philadelphia as the latest market where the local Paxson-owned TV station will rerun the locally produced weekday newscasts of the NBC O&O.
WPPX Philadelphia will run WCAU’s 6 p.m. news half-hour at 7 p.m. and WCAU’s 11 p.m. half-hour at 11:30 p.m. WCAU is the NBC-owned station.
The two stations are already bound together in a joint sales agreement, committing WCAU to sell the local ad time on WPPX and to help with WPPX’s marketing and promotion.
NBC owns 32% of Paxson. Other cities in which Paxson TV stations time-shift the newscast of the local NBC outlets include New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, Miami, San Francisco, Milwaukee and Fresno, Calif.
