‘One Day’ to air once in Sept.

HBO has rights to Oscar winner

HBO, which acquired the broadcast rights to Arthur Cohn’s “One Day in September” before the film landed an Oscar for best documentary, plans to take advantage of a unique promotional opportunity the film’s title affords. According to sources, the pay cabler will air the film about the murder of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympics for one day in September — after which it will have its theatrical release. Sources said it will likely air on the anniversary of the date that the athletes were murdered. The film is said to be close to a deal with a domestic distributor.
