The WB is rolling the dice on “Nikki,” ordering nine more episodes of the Vegas-set frosh laffer from Warner Bros. Television.
Full-season order brings to 22 the total number of episodes set to be produced this season of the series from creator Bruce Helford and exec producers Helford, Bob Myer and Deborah Oppenheimer.
“Bruce has shown in every series he’s done the ability to take a solid idea, great talent and build upon those assets,” said WB exec VP Jordan Levin. “That’s what we’re seeing again in ‘Nikki.’ ”
While the show’s four-episode average 2.2 rating/3 share in homes is about the same as what the Frog net averaged Sundays at 9 p.m. last season, “Nikki” has improved a solid 10% in adults 18-34 over year-ago Nielsen figures. The increases are even more dramatic with the show’s target aud of young men, with the skein doubling the WB’s slot perf with male teens, men 18-34 and men 18-49.
