Showrunning team Ed Glavin and Debby Harwick Glavin, who recently exited Telepictures’ talker “The Jenny Jones Show,” are joining “Queen Latifah,” also a Telepictures talker, as exec producers.
The Glavins join exec producers Sha-Kim Compere and Queen Latifah for the skein’s second season.
When the Glavins exited “Jenny,” Telepictures said the duo would be running another Telepictures show, though which one was unclear at the time (Daily Variety, Aug. 11).
Second life for ‘Jenny’
The Glavins had exec produced “Jenny Jones” since its second season. Telepictures brought “Jenny” back to syndication for that season despite low ratings with hope that the show would flourish following a change in format. The risk paid off, as it is entering its 10th season this fall.
The Glavins are charged with a similar job with “Latifah,” the only new syndie talker for the year to have nabbed a renewal. While “Latifah” in its freshman season posted ratings improvements, its season average failed to reach a 2.0 national household rating, considered a general benchmark for profitability of daytime syndicated strips.
