LONDON — Granada Creative, the programming arm of Granada Media, appointed Marcus Plantin to the new post of director, international entertainment production and formats, with particular responsibility for U.S. deals.
The move follows the U.S. sale of Granada’s long-running gameshow format “Krypton Factor” to LMNO Prods. for the Fox Network.
It also follows the resignation last week of Granada Entertainment USA prexy Scott Siegler, an American with U.S. studio experience, who ankled to take a top position at a dot-com.
Plantin, who will also continue in his current Granada post as managing director of LWT Prods., brokered the gameshow deal along with Kevin Roast, head of international production and formats.
In his new role, Plantin will represent Granada Media’s interests in Los Angeles, in tandem with Granada USA Entertainment and Greg Lipstone of the William Morris Agency.
Roast will focus primarily on Europe (particularly Germany) and Australia. Both will work closely with Nadine Nohr, managing director of Granada Media Intl.
