NEW YORK — Fox Family Channel has ordered 13 episodes of “The Fearing Mind,” a one-hour drama from Jim Henson Television set to premiere in primetime on the cabler this fall.
Dan Angel and Billy Brown (“The X-Files,” “Goosebumps”) will write and exec produce “The Fearing Mind,” which will explore the creative mind of Bill Fearing, a fictitious New England suspense writer. Series will intertwine the story of the Fearing family with the one the author is currently penning.
“Together with Jim Henson, we are confident that series of this caliber will further define our channel and provide a vision of what contemporary family television can be,” said Fox Family Channel’s Rob Sorcher, exec VP of programming and development.
“The Fearing Mind” marks the launch of the family-friendly cable net’s adult-targeted, scripted primetime series initiative developed and led by Sorcher. It’s also the first series commitment for Jim Henson Television since the company was acquired by Germany’s EM.TV. “Fearing” will be produced by Jim Henson Prods.
