Writer-producer Connie Buerge has charmed the folks at 20th Century Fox Television, inking a new overall deal at the studio.
Under the pact, valued in the mid-six figures, Buerge will create and develop hourlong dramas for primetime.
Buerge previously created and executive produced the witchcraft drama “Charmed” for the WB. She also co-executive produced and created the WB sudser “Savannah.” Both shows were through Spelling Entertainment.
Buerge is a consulting producer on “Charmed.”
“The TV landscape is so competitive that putting two series on the air is a fairly remarkable feat and speaks strongly to Connie’s talent and original voice,” 20th Century Fox Television co-prexy Dana Walden said. “It’s important to (co-president) Gary (Newman) and me that we continue to aggressively pursue strong female creators.”
In recent months 20th has signed development deals with Barbara Hall, Thania St. John, Dawn Prestwich and Nicole Yorkin.
Buerge, who recently signed with UTA, is also repped by Jeanne Newman at Hansen, Jacobsen, Hoberman, Newman & Warren.
