‘Farmclub’ set for USA

Online record label's TV show heading for cable

Jimmy and Doug’s Farmclub.com, the online record label created by Interscope/Geffen/A&M co-chair Jimmy Iovine and Universal Music Group chair-CEO Doug Morris, has spawned a weekly TV show, “Farmclub.com,” that’s set to air on the USA Network.

Hosted by former MTV veejay Matt Pinfield, the show will debut at 11 p.m. on Jan. 31, following the World Wrestling Federation’s “Monday Night Raw.” Rappers Dr. Dre, Eminem and Xzibit, and U.K. female DJ (and recently signed Farmclub.com artist) Sonique will be the first guests.

Musicians from around the world can upload their music to the farmclub.com Web site, where a global online community will vote for new artists to be featured on the TV show. Among the show’s features will be a weekly countdown of the most-requested songs from the farmclub.com site.

“The ‘Farmclub.com’ TV show is defining the look and feel of next- generation music programming,” Morris said. “It speaks to an online savvy audience that’s used to affecting the content they see and listen to.”
