‘Dharma’ and ‘X-Files’ feted

'Lions' takes film nod in Environmental Media Awards

“Dharma & Greg” and “The X-Files” received kudos Thursday at the ninth annual Environmental Media Awards, held at the Beverly Hilton.

Beau Bridges hosted the event, which recognizes outstanding use of environmental themes in six entertainment categories.

Linda Wallem, writer of “The Pill” episode of “That ’70s Show,” received the $10,000 Turner Prize. Sponsored by the Turner Foundation, the award honors the primetime drama or comedy TV episode that best addresses some aspect of the environmental problems of population and growth.

“To Walk With Lions,” the 1999 sequel to “Born Free,” received the feature film award.
