NEW YORK — Court TV has upped Mary D. Silverman from VP to senior VP, acquisitions and development, a newly created post.
Continuing to report to Court TV exec VP, programming and marketing Art Bell in the company’s New York headquarters, Silverman will maintain responsibility for all of the network’s program acquisition, scheduling, development and international co-production.
“Mary has been a key player in building our program schedule,” said Bell. “She also was instrumental in negotiating deals for both ‘Forensic Files’ and ‘Profiler,’ ” which are crime series set to bow this fall.
Silverman moved to Court TV last year from Odyssey Channel, where she was senior VP of programming. Previously, she was VP of co-productions and sales at BBC Worldwide Television and VP of program acquisitions at Lifetime.
