Francis Ford Coppola’s American Zoetrope banner is ramping up television production, sealing deals with Alliance Atlantis Television Production and Viacom Productions.
The two-year exclusive Alliance Atlantis deal calls for Zoetrope to create and develop TV films and miniseries, while the exclusive Viacom deal seals Zoetrope to develop and produce series TV.
American Zoetrope Television’s Tara McCann, senior VP and head of TV, will produce all of the boutique’s productions and work closely with Viacom senior VP of creative affairs Michele Conklin and Alliance Atlantis’ Ed Gernon, exec VP of movies and miniseries.
All three companies announced the deals Tuesday. American Zoetrope already has a roster of projects in the works both at Alliance Atlantis and Viacom.

American Zoetrope’s TV credits include the miniseries “The Odyssey” and “Moby Dick,” the TV movies “Outrage,” “Dark Angel” and “Riot,” and the Sci-Fi Channel series “First Wave.”
