MIAMI — Televisa will bow Cartoon Network original programming, beginning Jan. 10.
Televisa’s Channel 5, which is kid-oriented and features purchased programs almost exclusively, will air a half-hour block of shows weekdays, including cartoons like “The Powerpuff Girls.”
Cartoon Network Latin America said the deal will expand its audience in Mexico, where the penetration of cable and other pay TV outlets is low.
Televisa has a similar agreement with Nickelodeon Latin America.
