HOLLYWOOD — At Tuesday’s Village Theater preem of “Space Cowboys,” one of the buckaroos said he was taking a break from riding the range. Star-director Clint Eastwood didn’t say he was retiring from filmmaking, but he did say: “This’ll be it for a while.”
Eastwood was at the Armand Hammer Museum for the preem’s after-party, where co-star Tommy Lee Jones praised his directorial style for “not wasting a lot of time and effort.”
Jones said this straightforward-style of filmmaking “is a good American tradition. What’s not traditional is to do it on time.”
Among those on hand were Warner Bros. execs Barry Meyer, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Brad Ball, Dan Fellman and Joe Hyams; stars Eastwood, Jones, Donald Sutherland and James Garner; producer Andrew Lazar; plus 1,000 guests including Eva Marie Saint, Mark Johnson, Sean Daniels, David Foster and Camryn Manheim.
