CAA celebrated putting last month’s upfronts behind it with a party Friday night at the Sunset Room.
Though the upfronts were held in Gotham, CAA partner Lee Gabler said the networks’ primetime presentations “is not the best time for a party. The networks are focusing on trying to set a schedule. The studios and the agencies are anxious about what shows will be picked up. It’s the middle of the selling season. It’s not really a time to celebrate anything.”
And while some may have more to celebrate than others, Gabler said this party was for “all the studios and networks to get together and say ‘We had a great year. Maybe not as good as we would like, but we’re all in it, we’re all in it for next year. Let’s move on.’ ”
Among those moving at the Sunset Room were CAA’s Adam Berkowitz, Jeff Jacobs, Mike and Sonya Rosenfeld and Patrick Whitesell; Garth Ancier, Lloyd Braun, Amy Brenneman, Bernie Brillstein, Dan McDermott, Brad Grey, Marshall Herskovitz, Heath Ledger, Leslie Moonves, Phil Rosenthal and Ed Zwick.
