Virgil C. Hayes Jr.

Virgil C. Hayes Jr., co-founder of Runaway Entertainment, died March 19 of undisclosed causes at his home in Los Angeles. He was 36.

A native of New Jersey, Hayes attended Howard U. after serving in the U.S. Navy. Moving to the Beltway, Hayes worked for the U.S. Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C.

He relocated to Los Angeles to co-found his production company, Runaway Entertainment. He also spent time at MGM Studios, Cast Locations, and Tel-O-Net, an upstart Internet company.

He is survived by his wife, Asta, his mother and sister.
