Dominique Swain, who debuted in 1997’s “Lolita,” has nabbed lead roles in a pair of independent films: “Dead in the Water” and “Briar Patch.” “Patch,” a romantic drama, starts production early July in North Carolina. “Water,” a thriller, begins lensing in August on location in Brazil.

Swain, who’ll be seen in a slew of upcoming films, including “The Intern” with Kathy Griffin and “Mary Jane’s Last Dance” with Taye Diggs, is repped by ICM.

Gregory Smith (“Krippendorf’s Tribe,” “Small Soldiers”) has signed on to portray outlaw Jim Younger in the Morgan Creek/Warner Bros. feature “Jesse James.” Smith, who’ll next be seen as Mel Gibson’s son in Sony’s “The Patriot,” is repped by Endeavor, Strong/Morrone Entertainment and attorney Michael Fuller.

Elizabeth Anne Allen (“Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) has landed a recurring role on the Warner Bros. Television/TNT series “Bull.” Allen is repped by Innovative Artists and manager Sheree Cohen of Envision Entertainment.

Matt Schulze (“Blade”) is set to co-star in the indie feature “Red Line.” Schulze, who’s featured with Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jason Biggs in this summer’s Miramax comedy “Boys and Girls,” is repped by the Gersh Agency.

Marcy Kaplan (“Little Sister”) has joined the cast of the long-running NBC sudser “Days of Our Lives.” She’s repped by House of Representatives and Union Management.

Canadian thesp Yanic Truesdale (“The Duval Family”) is set to join Edward Herrmann as a series regular in this fall’s one-hour drama “The Gilmore Girls” for the WB. Truesdale is repped by Howard Talent West.
